We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive and that families should stay together.

Supporting Children at Home

We focus on providing support in the child’s home that is culturally appropriate and suitable for their life-style, unique needs and home environment.

We provide adaptive equipment that enhances a child’s safety, comfort, and function; nutritional supplements for children with chronic malnutrition and protein deficiency due to feeding and swallowing difficulties; and basic first aid supplies.

Preventative Health and Hygiene

The overall health and safety of our families is improved by providing education and access around these key elements.

FAMILY ASSISTANCE FOR OUTSIDE SERVICES

We focus on providing support in the child’s home that is culturally appropriate and suitable for their life-style, unique needs and home environment.

  • We pay for transportation for families to bring their children to the hospital, the dentist or the rehabilitation center.
  • We accompany families on all of their medical appointments to explain what is happening and help them understand more about their child’s condition.
  • We make sure they know how to give medicine appropriately, when they need to return for follow-up, and what to do if their child’s condition changes.
  • We advocate for children and families at the local hospital. We maintain close contact with the family when their child is hospitalized and provide appropriate follow-up care at home.
  • We provide money to cover the cost of food when a child is hospitalized, as hospitals here cannot provide meals to children or their family members who must stay with them at all times.
  • We bring children and families to the government rehab center to get prosthetics, to the audiologist for hearing aids if needed, and to the dentist for much-needed dental care.
  • We educate about safety and children’s rights and the importance of education. We refer families to other services that may be able to help with needs we cannot meet.
