Vibol is 6 years old boy. When Vibol was 3 years old, he fell into the family's fire pit while playing and sustained 3rd degree burns on his lower torso, legs and feet. The burns were never properly treated and heavy scar tissue formed. His knees and his feet have fused due to the scar tissue. When he was five, a local hospital did some skin grafts to try and give him range of motion with his knees. He is now able to bend his knees, however, the constant skin infections and pain make it difficult for him to walk and run. The closest school is around a mile away and he cannot walk the distance in order to attend.

Vibol is a Surgical Intervention child in our Safe Haven Outreach Program. He is currently under the care of our medical staff. They are working on his range of motion and ability to walk through PT and treating the itchy, skin infections. Eventually, we would like Vibol to see a burn specialist to determine if further surgeries would improve his quality of life.
